Mr. JP Agarwal founded Friends Rosery in 1959. He was a pioneer in the field of roses in India having bred and introduced innumerable varieties that are staples in gardens country-wide. Mr. Agarwal’s vision was to spread awareness about incredible

diversity of this genus and to provide Indian gardeners an opportunity to grow quality and true to type roses that were difficult to procure. He attained a highly respectable name in the world of roses in a very short span of time. He was key to igniting the passion for roses all over India and was the author of Rose World. He also organized the Indian Rose Convention in Lucknow, India and is also a recipient of GOLD Medal from the Indian Rose Federation for his unparalleled contributions to the world of roses.

His son, Mr. Ashok Agarwal who is trained as a professional horticulturist, improved the techniques and methodologies in rose growing and floriculture. He expanded the business by creating new varieties of roses and gladioli and introduced several foliage and exotic plants to the collection and catalogue.

Vishal Agarwal is the grandson of Mr. JP Agarwal and is the third generation horticulturist at Friends Rosery. Vishal, along with his team, is committed to expanding Friends Rosery’s world class rose, cactus and exotic plant collection and working towards ushering in a new era of floriculture.

Over the years, Friends Rosery has introduced many Indian and international varieties and is proud to add to its catalogue a vast collection of Cacti, Succulents, House Plants, Water Lilies, Adeniums and several other plants.
